In response to an application submitted by Pakistani producers International Steels Limited and Aisha Steel Mills Limited (ASML) on June 28, 2024, the National Tariff Commission of Pakistan launched an anti-circumvention investigation on galvanized steel coils/sheets with a thickness from 0.15 mm to 2.75 mm and a width of 600mm or more imported from China.

The investigation examines whether Chinese exporters/producers circumvent anti-dumping duties imposed on galvanized steel coils/sheets by slightly modifying the products through hot-dip galvanization with zinc and aluminum as the main coating elements, with or without other metals in small proportions.

The product under investigation (galvalume steel coils/sheets) has only been slightly modified without changing its essential characteristics, and its use is the same as the product subject to anti-dumping duties (galvanized steel coils/sheets).

The product involved is classified under Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT) headings 7210.6110, 7210.6190, 7210.6910, and 7210.6990.

The period of the anti-circumvention investigation is from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2024.

The conclusion was scheduled to be released within nine months from the date of this notice publication.
