The Canadian government provided two companies in Ontario with C$8.4 million to promote domestic recycling of critical minerals.
Cyclic Materials, a metals recycling company that builds a circular supply chain for rare earth elements and other critical metals, will receive C$4.9 million to set up a demonstration plant that will produce high-purity rare earth oxide and cobalt nickel hydroxide products from recycled materials.
Green Graphite Technologies, a cleantech company, will use the funding of C$3.5 million to advance its GraphRenew technology, which converts used graphite into reusable materials.
Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, said that new technologies will help keep Canadian industry competitive and create jobs in a rapidly evolving global context.
