According to the data from the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS), Pakistan imported around 211,000 tons of scrap in July, decreasing by 3.7% compared to the previous month but rising by 16% from the same month a year ago.
During the period, the imports of steel products amounted to approximately 241,000 tons, hiking by 20% month on month and down by 8.6% year on year.
The value generated by Pakistan’s scrap imports totaled around US$96 million in July, a month-on-month decrease of 2.6% and a year-on-year growth of 9%. The import value of Pakistan’s steel products was US$163 million, down by 7% month on month and increasing by 10% year on year.
