Akylbek Zhaparov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, signed a decree on extending the temporary ban on exporting scrap and waste ferrous metals outside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) by another six months, aiming to support the growth of the domestic steel industry.
The target products of this ban are scrap and waste ferrous metals, and ferrous metal ingots for remelting, which are classified under the HS code 7204 of the EAEU’s commodity nomenclature for foreign economic activity.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has been responsible for notifying the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) of the extension.
