According to the Swedish Steel Producers' Association (Jernkontoret), Sweden produced approximately 2.53 million tons of crude steel in the first seven months of 2024, decreasing by 3.3% yearly.
Swedish crude steel production increased by 0.3% year on year to about 314,000 tons in July.
The Trade Policy Director at Jernkontoret, Mathias Ternell, said that although production so far this year has decreased by over 3% this year, it remains above the levels recorded in July 2023. They will focus on whether this trend continues.
