According to statistics from the Italian steelmakers' association Federacciai, Italy’s crude steel production totaled around 1.7 million tons in July, falling by 4% compared to the same month a year ago.

During the period, the output of Italy’s flat steel products fell by 17% year on year to 716,000 tons, and that of long products increased by 4% year on year to around 1 million tons.

In the first seven months of this year, Italy produced a total of approximately 13 million tons of crude steel, a year-on-year drop of 5.4%. The output of flat steel products slid 11% year on year to 5.2 million tons, and that of long products was slightly up by 0.7% year on year to 7.4 million tons.
