AIPEI – Walsin Lihwa, a leading Taiwanese manufacturer of stainless steel wire rod, announced today that it will maintain its list prices for all major product series for the month of November.
The company confirmed that its benchmark 304-grade stainless steel wire rods will see no price change. This decision extends to the surcharge on 316L products and the list prices for both 200-series and 400-series stainless steel, all of which will remain flat.
In a statement, Walsin Lihwa acknowledged facing increased production cost pressures, citing a slight uptick in raw material costs and the recent depreciation of the New Taiwan Dollar. Despite these inflationary headwinds, the company has opted to absorb the additional costs to uphold its competitive position in the market and provide stability to its downstream customers.
This pricing decision by Walsin Lihwa aligns with the general trend observed in the Taiwanese stainless steel market for November. Other major mills, such as Yusco and Tang Eng, have also largely held their prices steady or implemented minor adjustments, reflecting a cautious market stance. The overall sentiment points to a balanced yet competitive environment, where mills are prioritizing market share and customer support amidst fluctuating input costs and moderate demand.
