Hill & Smith announced the acquisition of Whitlow Electric Service on Tuesday for US$30.2 million. Whitlow specializes in designing and manufacturing structural steel and substation components for the US electrical infrastructure market.

For the year ending December 31, 2023, Whitlow's unaudited financial results showed: Revenue: US$27.4 million; Adjusted EBIT: US$3.1 million; Gross assets: US$10.7 million.

The company was sold by Bruce Whitlow, who will continue to be involved with the business post-acquisition.

This purchase strengthens Hill & Smith's position in the rapidly growing US electrical infrastructure sector. The Whitlow acquisition complements Hill & Smith's earlier successful purchase and integration of Capital Steel, expanding the company's presence into the lucrative Southeast US market.
