According to the report from Baker Hughes, in the week ending on August 30, 2024, the US’ rotary rig count was down by two units week on week to 583 units. Among them, the number of drilling rigs for natural gas fell by two units to 95 units, and that for oil kept flat at 488 units. The total number had a year-on-year decline of 48 units.

During the same period, Canada’s rig count rose by one unit to 220 units compared to the previous week. Canada’s rig number totally increased by 33 units from the same period a year ago.
