India's Welspun Corp approves investment of $100 million for expanding US pipe manufacturing
Welspun Corp, an Indian welded line pipe manufacturer, announced its investment plan of US$100 million in upgrading its high-frequency induction welding pipe manufacturing and coating capabilities through its US subsidiary, Welspun Pipes, Inc., aiming to bolster the company’s product portfolio and production efficiencies in the US.
The investment will last 18 months and will be funded through local debt and internal funds.
The upgrade will allow the company to produce pipes with larger sizes, up to 24 inches in outside diameter and up to 0.750 inches in wall thickness.
Additionally, the expansion will also strengthen Welspun Pipes' leadership position in the US oil and gas field, especially in the oil, liquids, gas, as well as distribution markets.
