India ranks second in global primary aluminum production, with output growing by 1.2% in Q1 FY24-25
According to statistics from India's Ministry of Mines, the country's primary aluminum production totaled 1.043 million tons in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2024-25, growing by 1.2% compared to the same period a year ago.
The figure made India stand as the second-largest aluminum producer in the world. The growth in aluminum output typically means strong economic activities in industrial sectors such as energy, infrastructure, construction, automotive, and machinery.
In 2023, India's primary aluminum production reached 4.1 million tons, accounting for 6% of the global output.
