According to statistics, South Korea's hot-rolled coil (HRC) production amounted to around 7.4 million tons from January to August, which decreased by 3% compared to the same period a year ago.

During the period, South Korea's domestic shipments totaled 4.5 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.6%. Exports experienced a year-on-year drop of 6.6%, at 2.9 million tons.

In August alone, South Korea's HRC production was 1.07 million tons, down by 3% month on month. Shipments to the domestic market fell by 4.4% month on month to 540,000 tons, and exports grew by 17% month on month to 445,000 tons.
