According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), China's coal imports totaled around 45.8 million tons in August, slightly falling by 0.8% compared to the previous month while rising by 3.4% from the same month a year ago. The import value grew by 6.9% year on year to about CNY 31.2 billion.
In the first eight months of this year, China's coal imports amounted to approximately 341.6 million tons, hiking by 11.8% compared to the corresponding period a year earlier. The value created by these imports reached CNY 242.4 billion, a year-on-year drop of 2.5%.
