US announces preliminary CVD ruling on ferrosilicon from 3 countries

On September 4, 2024, the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) made the preliminary affirmative determination of the countervailing duty (CVD) investigation on ferrosilicon from Brazil, Kazakhstan, and Malaysia.

The preliminary subsidy rate for Brazil is from 4.44% to 61.73%, and that for Kazakhstan is 2.37% to 14.74%. Malaysia received 2.81% to 3.48%.

The USDOC is scheduled to announce its final determination of the CVD measure on January 14, 2025.

On April 18 this year, the USDOC initiated anti-dumping (AD) and CVD investigations on ferrosilicon from Brazil, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, and Russia. The preliminary result of the CVD probe into Russia was announced this June. A preliminary subsidy rate of 748.58% was assigned to Russia.
